Juvenile Passenger Injured in OHRV Crash in Berlin

Berlin, NH – On August 13, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., NH Fish and Game Conservation Officers were notified of a crash involving a rental UTV on Turbine Road in Berlin. An emergency response was initiated by the Berlin Police Department, Berlin Fire Department, and a Conservation Officer.

Preliminary information indicates that a 17-year-old male was temporarily operating the UTV with another 17-year-old male passenger when the vehicle overturned as a result of reckless operation.

The juvenile passenger was transported out of the woods by members of his riding party and met by members of the Berlin Fire Department and Berlin Police Department. The juvenile passenger sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries in the crash. He was transported to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin for medical evaluation and treatment.

The adult renter, identified as 45-year-old Charisse Edgar of Exeter, Rhode Island, was subsequently issued a summons for allowing a minor to operate an OHRV in a manner that endangered persons or property.

Conservation Officers remind OHRV operators that recreational vehicles can cause serious injuries when operated recklessly or at unsafe speeds. Operators and passengers should follow all applicable laws, safety requirements, and wear appropriate protective equipment.
